[once kashuu goes looking for the jade archway, it will appear before him. stepping through feels like stepping into a soothing landscape painting. the atmosphere goes grey, but rather than the monochrome of other areas, it's the mist of morning fog, still hanging low in the air. his feet touch down onto dirt and grass. he is standing in a quaint country garden. there are tall, dark green trees all around and rolling hills far away, but in the immediate vicinity is a flat, empty area with a few fenced in garden patches. the fenced in area in front of you looks to be a tidy herb and vegetable garden patch. there's a small shed towards the back of the garden, and gardening tools are scattered about.
in the distance he can see a pond and across the pond, far away, a small cottage with smoke billowing from the chimney. there are a few stone statues scattered about the garden, but after a moment, you notice that one of them in particular is waving.]
as he steps through the quartz arch, hhe will find himself standing in a traditional Japanese-style room - tatami mats on the floor, and sliding paper doors on every side. there are no windows, or even decorations on the walls. it's dim in here, lit only by low candles and shadows crawling out of every corner. it's very, very silent.
[Oh! Wow, this is certainly a very sparse space, but it's more familiar than almost anything except the temple...
So of course his dumb ass waltzes right in, curiously peering around as he goes. He's nice enough to keep his hands to himself, even though there's not really much to touch except the candles and he's not in the business of burning Both hands... But, after a second:]
oh no yours are cute too! i love that sticker ☆*:.。.o(≧▽≦)o.。.:*☆!!! but yeah! ghost marriage i think she's super stressed but the flower arrangements are cute especially the ones by yours truly ☆ ~('▽^人)
[Oh... This is so quaint??? This is so cute!! Kashuu, despite his general fussiness, is still a person who loves nature (just not fieldwork), so he's busy looking around and enjoying the scenery by the time he notices the one statue that is not like the others.]
Oh—! Heya. [Raising a hand in greeting!! And then picking up his frilly skirts so he can make his way over.]
I didn't really find it, it just kinda showed up? And it looked new! So I was like, oh, hey, I'll go check out whatever's over there.
[Hopefully his tendency to amble into the unknown will someday get him killed.]
That's not a bad way to experience this place, I find. If you go into it open to find whatever it wants to show you, you're likely to stumble on something good.
[LOOK. SOMETIMES there are just no braincells at all, only chaos. Fortunately Kashuu keeps at least one hand not burned this time, though! His one... good hand.
He also blinks a little at the funkyass voice, but doesn't seem too spooked yet.]
Oh. Is this private? I just kinda walked through the arch 'cuz it looked new...
they look pretty stressful! 〣( ºΔº )〣 glad it's not me tbh but i did! check it out ♥
[At which point he'll try to send an attachment of the photo he took! It's so desaturated and the arrangement is truly just 50 Shades Of Grey, and also, Kashuu takes up half the frame since he's treating it as a selfie... At least it's a cute pose. Good work, lad.]
You are far from the first. I suppose it is mortal nature to see something like that and feel compelled to walk through it without knowing what is on the other side.
I think that's the nature of most things... [No it's the nature of anything with no braincell, like a sword.] D'you want me to, like, leave? It's kinda weird talking to a disembodied voice without even a sword to look at.
[He's only used to talking to disembodied voices that come from blades!! But he sets his hands on his hips, glancing around the room anyway like he's in no hurry to leave despite the offer.]
[ a pause. but they don't seem to think that statement is odd or anything. ]
Give me a moment.
[ another door opens on its own, revealing ... another room! much like the first one, except it has a low table, and a tatami cushion to sit on next to it. ]
Yeah. Stay here long enough, and you'll find places like this tucked away everywhere. And you'll also find places you don't like so much. The good with the bad.
