the candle blows out, and with it, the lights in the room go out too. after a moment, they flicker back on, and the creature is gone. the walls are clear of notecards - just brilliantly colorful paint remains, a rainbow glittering across the surface. on the counter where kagemaru was is... is a gold earring. huh.
