Even without war, I can’t see my path being any other. Becoming a knight was my display of fealty and love to Ishgard and all she protects, though I had every intention on changing her foundations—for she and her people can be better. To desire and pursue reform, I needed a station of influence. However, I had the mind that when Ishgard was steered onto the right path, I can set the mantle down. I had, but then the people placed the seat of Lord Speaker into my hands.

I shared a similar past with a childhood friend—unwanted and illegitimate children from affairs, cast aside and scorned by society. I was most fortunate, for my foster parents gave me their family name… But he was forced to take upon “Greystone” to bespeak his origins. In spite of all the rumors, the mistreatment, we remained steadfast for we wanted to share and do good. We wished one day, through our deeds, children like us wouldn't suffer.
His words still urge me on through my endeavors since young: "a smile better suits a hero," thus I shouldn't look so glum if I wanted to become one. Would that he could see where Ishgard and I are now...

somehow they completely missed the fact that aymeric is a knight but this actually makes a ton of sense in context now. in addition, wow, this story is a lot? but the goal is admirable, and they seem to consider this quietly as they nod along.]
guess those arent such bad words to remember especially with a big goal like that was she ever steered on the right path in the end? ishgard or are u still working on it? people must really trust u if they appointed u but its still a little…it feels a little weird when that wasnt the original goal

i think theyre actually just partners in crime but they look a lot like their rivals the m*rio bros who are plumbers but they have to rescue the princess of the kingdom who keeps getting kidnapped by b*wser

I think that’s a fine answer, Lord Riff. A goal or a want needs not be lofty, but I’d argue wishing for another’s happiness is no small gesture.
