she finds a little apartment! it's a studio apartment, one room, with a bathroom and a tiny kitchen. the main room is just a couch and a TV, with plain white walls and plain grey carpet. this'd be boring if it weren't for the various posters and trinkets plastered around the room. the posters are blurred out, but they're colorful and eyecatching anyway.
on the couch is a pile of blankets, and a tiny puddle of greyscale static that is slowly melting off the couch.]
[ is what vanille starts with as she enters the apartment, taking a quick glance around. her eyes linger on some of the more colorful decorations before turning her full attention to bass... or, well, what appears to be them. hewwo? ]
[they slowly take the lilac, and the static turns a weird flickering purple-yellow color. no, i don't know what color that is, but that's what happens.]
Thanks. I feel a little less tired, at least. [...] Are you doing okay? After everything.
[ google says, like, some kinda brown but it's fine we can suspend disbelief. ]
I'm... confused? I'm still not quite sure what happened or what to feel, to be honest with you. But I am thankful that everyone's all right. [ beat, as she thinks about damien ] Mostly all right.
[a pause, and then they kick a little bit of blanket over to her.]
Riff said they felt like they wanted to really hurt Damien, but it wasn't like a compulsion, just... enhanced, I guess. Like they had feelings they wouldn't normally act on, but did.
[ she picks up on that defensiveness and kind of demurs... maybe trying to change the topic might help? ]
How well do the four of you know each other, anyway? Or is it... something like, it's been so long you can't remember what it's ever been like without them?
They've been around as long as me. Riff's my best friend, and Steel and Shale are like... well, I guess family? I don't know if that's weird to say, I've never asked.
[once she goes looking for the jade archway, it will appear before her. stepping through feels like stepping into a soothing landscape painting. the atmosphere goes grey, but rather than the monochrome of other areas, it's the mist of morning fog, still hanging low in the air. her feet touch down onto dirt and grass. she is standing in a quaint country garden. there are tall, dark green trees all around and rolling hills far away, but in the immediate vicinity is a flat, empty area with a few fenced in garden patches. the fenced in area in front looks to be a tidy herb and vegetable garden patch. there's a small shed towards the back of the garden, and gardening tools are scattered about.
in the distance she can see a pond and across the pond, far away, a small cottage with smoke billowing from the chimney. there are a few stone statues scattered about the garden, but after a moment, you notice that one of them in particular is pacing back and forth, talking to the plants. it glances up.]
[ oh... this is nice. this nature-filled place is the most like "home" she's felt in a very long time, even counting before she arrived at the prism. it actually takes her a moment to take her eyes off the surrounding landscape before she starts making her way to the person she's come to visit, taking note of the quaint little cottage with a wave to the statue. ]
Hi, Shale! I brought you a present.
[ she opens her hand to reveal a tea infuser in the shape of a pinkish-orange crystal, exuding warmth from within. ]
[ ronck friend... she holds shale's hand between her own when they accept the trinket and gives it a little squeeze. or like. attempts to, as best she can, with them being stone and all. ]
You said you wanted to have tea with people this week, right? I figured it would help!
Mm-hm! I'd love to share. I'm not picky, so you don't have to worry about that! [ she gestures to the little setup they have going on. ] Mind if I sit?
Hehe, aw, would they really? I think I'd be kind of flattered if I was in their position! ... Maybe a little embarrassed too, but it's nice to be important to someone like that, right?
