she finds a little apartment! it's a studio apartment, one room, with a bathroom and a tiny kitchen. the main room is just a couch and a TV, with plain white walls and plain grey carpet. this'd be boring if it weren't for the various posters and trinkets plastered around the room. the posters are blurred out, but they're colorful and eyecatching anyway.
on the couch is a pile of blankets, and a tiny puddle of greyscale static that is slowly melting off the couch.]
[ is what vanille starts with as she enters the apartment, taking a quick glance around. her eyes linger on some of the more colorful decorations before turning her full attention to bass... or, well, what appears to be them. hewwo? ]
[they slowly take the lilac, and the static turns a weird flickering purple-yellow color. no, i don't know what color that is, but that's what happens.]
Thanks. I feel a little less tired, at least. [...] Are you doing okay? After everything.
[once she goes looking for the jade archway, it will appear before her. stepping through feels like stepping into a soothing landscape painting. the atmosphere goes grey, but rather than the monochrome of other areas, it's the mist of morning fog, still hanging low in the air. her feet touch down onto dirt and grass. she is standing in a quaint country garden. there are tall, dark green trees all around and rolling hills far away, but in the immediate vicinity is a flat, empty area with a few fenced in garden patches. the fenced in area in front looks to be a tidy herb and vegetable garden patch. there's a small shed towards the back of the garden, and gardening tools are scattered about.
in the distance she can see a pond and across the pond, far away, a small cottage with smoke billowing from the chimney. there are a few stone statues scattered about the garden, but after a moment, you notice that one of them in particular is pacing back and forth, talking to the plants. it glances up.]
[ oh... this is nice. this nature-filled place is the most like "home" she's felt in a very long time, even counting before she arrived at the prism. it actually takes her a moment to take her eyes off the surrounding landscape before she starts making her way to the person she's come to visit, taking note of the quaint little cottage with a wave to the statue. ]
Hi, Shale! I brought you a present.
[ she opens her hand to reveal a tea infuser in the shape of a pinkish-orange crystal, exuding warmth from within. ]
[ ronck friend... she holds shale's hand between her own when they accept the trinket and gives it a little squeeze. or like. attempts to, as best she can, with them being stone and all. ]
You said you wanted to have tea with people this week, right? I figured it would help!
Mm-hm! I'd love to share. I'm not picky, so you don't have to worry about that! [ she gestures to the little setup they have going on. ] Mind if I sit?
[ and so she goes, arriving not too long after she sends her response. even before she sees shale—if they got there before she did—she's already scooping a baby alpaca into her arms. also, fit! ]
I heard about all that from someone, but not so much the details. Your poor eye. Wish the pods have been a little better about handling that kind of injury.
[ hello. as she walks through, she'll find herself stepping back inside the tatami floored rooms of the endless castle ... but this time, the room is decorated. A bit sparsely, but you know. Stuff. A sword is mounted on the wall, and fresh flowers are in a vase on the low table next to the tea set. Steel isn't in here however.
Most notably however, is the room has an open door now - to let the breeze in. It smells sweet and floral, like spring, and a bit like oncoming rain. The zen garden is less endless and sparse, actual greenery is around the edges now, and in the far distance, what looks like a mountain with a gigantic sakura tree can be seen. It's far away, but sometimes, its petals seem to float all the way here, to this distant place. If she continues outside, she'll find Steel sitting on the porch. ]

[ ooh, pretty... vanille takes a curious peek around, though she's a little cautious about trying to snoop. she doesn't know steel very well, so she's kind of nervous... but the calming zen aesthetic of their domain seems to be helping, if even just a bit. ]
Ah... hi, Steel. [ she attempts a wave as she comes onto the porch? she's definitely awkward about it, though—that much is obvious, even without emotion sharing. ] Um, I'm not bothering you, am I?

[yes! she can sit! they scooch a little over so she can settle.]

[ and sit she does! but not before reaching out and infusing some lovely lilac into bass. ]

That's pretty thoughtful of you. Do you drink tea? Maybe I could trade you a bit of that, as a return gift.

You already seem like you know what you're doing. [...] How are you?

[ she turns to wave, big smile on her face... before her mouth droops at the corners just a bit. ]
Well, I've...been better. [ huge understatement ] But I'm not running into things nearly as much anymore!

It's fine, really. I'm lucky in that it didn't really hurt so much as just... feel weird. I'm still alive, you know?

No. The archway is open for its purpose, and the purpose is visits. You require something?
no subject
Well, yes, but... I also wanted to apologize for Sunday. I didn't mean to annoy or upset you.
no subject
As it is, I cannot think what you would have done to cause such a thing in the first place.
