[ Well between Garou's 20 and Kumon's 1, yeah, shit is just gonna happening quickly here.
First up: Garou. With the two twenties in a roll, Garou, terrifying, covered in horseblood and wielding a whirring chainsaw, turns towards the mage with the book. Just before she's hit, she tosses the book with all her surprisingly considerable strength right towards Kumon. The chainsaw rips its way into her shoulder and across her body ... bisecting her with another bloody gush. Right before she falls into two piece, she snarls out a 'You binch!' at him. Garou kill count: one horse, one girl.
Marcy! You did good. Good job healing there. You feel so much better. Back to full health! Just in time for the Dinoman to leap onto you and start scratching with his claws all over her body. She'll get a chance to defend herself here, because the mage in the leather cape is ... also firing darts of bright magic right at her, sizzling and burning as they zing over her skin. Ouchie wouchie.
Kumon. Honey.
You get hit with that flung book. It's enormous, and also. Covered in spikes. It hits spine first, sending inches long spikes into his front and gut. It, uh. Hurts. If he were a guessing man, he might feel like he has about half of his ... hit points. Left.
At least until the Rider, who's still alive by the way, shoots more bullets out of his fingers at him. Now he's got about a quarter of his hit points left. ]
[ Garou is momentarily disoriented because - holy shit did he just kill someone holy shit he killed someone - but there's no time to unpack all of that when Kumon and Marcy are getting railed.
He lands with a snarl, looking quickly away from the remains of the mask toward the rest of the arena, and the sight of the hostages helps quell some of the unease as he turns toward the other mage, booking it toward him, looking basically like a savage animal.
As he does so, he gets the urge to imbue his chainsaw with some Scarlet because he's feeling frisky. Just before he's within striking distance, he's once again going to crouch low, hoping to get the mage at the legs and avoid a fireball to the face.
[ marceline misses shapeshifting a lot right this second, but she did survive most of the post-mushroom war garbage without any of those powers. she'll survive this too. being pinned by a lizard guy and burned at the same time might be exhausting, but she's not without her own claws.
and by claws i mean fangs, she has fangs and she has not a single qualm in sinking them into the closest lizard flesh, preferably the jugular while she also grabs her sick guitar axe despite its earlier betrayal for a big swing and a fire spell of her own towards the mage. now that she knows which side shoots the fire for sure. sometimes you don't do a proper weapon check.
[1/4 of his... hit points, or whatever he is feeling is a terrible place to be. He's basically flat on his back, between the books and the bullets and he's bleeding and it's awful- and why do people even enjoy this?
In a fit of desperation, he will attack the Rider with his knives... Twice! At least he can stop the Rider from continuing to attack? Hopefully?

[If the roar of the crowd was deafening, it's ground-shaking now - chanting Garou! Garou! Garou! They love him. As he imbues the chainsaw with Scarlet, he'll just feel even more of that violent bloodlust course through him. If he needed any additional incentive to fight his hardest, at his most brutal, he'd find it easily now. But he's already got that kinda under control, right?
He takes another swing at the Mage's legs, getting it pretty deep in there, but the guy doesn't go all the way down this time. He shoots back some of those light streaks at him, ripping into his skin - maybe slowing him down some. Still, the mage looks about half-health now.
Marcy! She shoots fire at the dino. He loves it! He loves it. It smells like delicious dinomeat barbeque in here, and he's writhing and yelling trying to put it out before it burns too badly. It doesn't do him much good, badly crispy by the end of it. He'll take another swing at her, lashing out with his tail to trip her up and send her crashing to the ground, and she's a little banged up from claws and magic lasers, but she's still got a good amount of fight left.
Kumon is turning it around now. The purple spraypaint is hitting him now - doesn't he feel ... creative? If he just turns this way and that, he can fire off two attacks in quick succession - and that he does. The first set of knives plunge their way into the Rider deeply with more thunks, and the last one, though at first it seems the aim is going to be off - he shifts at the last second to try and dodge and someone ends up with it directly in his forehead. And then falls over backwards in a cloud of dust, bleeding his last.
The crowd changes its chants to KU-MON! KU-MON! KU-MON! Sorry Garou. ]
In any case, the added bloodlust does help because otherwise Garou might have been a little weenie about killing another person. Instead, being hit (damn, his pain tolerance got nerfed too, shit hurts) makes him a combination of excited and furious, and he decides that THIS DUDE absoluteLY NEEDS TO die.
He's still fairly low on the ground, so he just redirects the chainsaw, trying to drag it up between the mage's legs through his body. He's going for the nuts.
[ well at least from the crowd chanting she can tell the guys are doing okay, which means she can continue to not care about them! yeah!!! this is how teamwork works!!!!
she's sent crashing to the ground with the tail lash, but she recovers quickly, rolling on the ground and pouncing back up like a wild animal. a wild animal holding a very cool axe, which she is aiming right for dino man's head as she takes a wide swing at him. the whole thanos moment.
[Did he just... kill a guy? With these knives? For Real? He feels even woozier than he did when he got shot, but maybe that's the blood loss beginning to settle in.
Still- still, he has to do something, right? He can't just faint while everybody is fighting to try and get out of this place. They just need to win two rounds and get out of the arena, and they can get back to the healing pods- but what about the people they're killing, they don't have the same luxury.
He wishes they weren't chanting his name.
The knives get summoned back, imbued with amber to try and calm himself down, as he sends them towards the dino-man.
I guess let's start at the beginning. Garou! As he's readjusting the chainsaw in his hands to bring it up to split this guy in half, all the blood from his previous victims makes everything so slippery. The handle of it falls right out of his grip, sending his hand jerking up to ... gently cup the mage's balls. And just stays there. The whole crowd falls silent near instantly. This is so embarrassing. This is so embarrassing he just wants to die. It's so embarrassing that it's actually painful. He can feel his health draining out of him even more for every second he's down here, on the ground, cupping this guys nuts.
At least until the mage magic laser blasts him directly in the face. He'll feel like he's got about half his hit points left (and no eyebrows).
Marcy. It's not a one, I guess. The guitar is heavy and unwieldy and hard to swing while she's got 1000lbs of angry dinoman scrambling over her, and can't manage more than a light BONK on his head, but it's enough to - shockingly - knock him off and to the side, reeling just a bit.
Kumon, buddy. Well, if he's imbuing the knives, he'll find that yeah. He does feel calmer. His breathing will even out, his mind stops racing. What would his big brother do right now? He'd probably have something encouraging to say. He'll be alright. He just has to finish this. Even with a four, it's enough to send the knives one right after the other into the dinoman's side, finishing him off with another angry roar, before he flops to the side. Dead. Tutorial!]
[ Lying there, sans eyebrows, the uncomfortable and unwanted warmth of nuts in his palm, Garou has to wonder:
Why? If life is a joke, should he just become a clown?
But just when he thinks he has nothing left in him, he finds a little bit left in him thanks to the scarlet bloodlust. He grabs the chainsaw yet again (with both hands) and just rams it into this guy's chest. He will never aim for the nuts again.
[ well it's not what she wanted, but the bonk means the lizard is off of her and she gets up with difficulty, aiming to shoot off another spell since the stupid axe is heavier than her usual one.
but while she's got a second to breathe, she turns to look at how kumon and garou are doing since the crowd went suddenly silent all of a sudden. she catches a glimpse of garou, with the face of a dead man, gently cradling the nuts of the enemy ]
... Dude, what?
[ she lets out a disbelieving wheeze and tries to cast a fire spell to the lizard while she starts a slow cackle of laughter at what she's witnessing
[His big brother would not say killing a dude is a good vibe. Just in general! He just beat people up who tried to beat him up first, he didn't like, murder anybody.
Kumon is bleeding to death on the ground and not getting up at all. He's really just having a bad time. Even if the amber knives are calming him down a little-
Garou, hands warm from nutflesh, finds the inner strength necessary to pull the chainsaw and banish the potential misery of life as a clown back to the darkness with one plunge into this man's chest. With more sickening whirring as it saws through flesh and bone, finally ending him once and for all, the howling laughter will be drowned out by the crowd.
Marcy cracks a rib laughing too hard, leaving her rolling on the ground. Kumon ... well. There's nothing left to aim at. The knives go flying off and then come right back to him.
As the mage falls backwards and lies still, and the chainsaw grinds to a halt - the crowd is still cheering, all on their feet, enough to make the stands sway with the weight of it. You're so popular! You're amazing!
Bits of bodies and gallons of blood are strewn about the arena at your feet, but, well. You're all alive. At least for now. Congratulations on your tutorial. I'll give you a round to bask in your accolades for the crowd. ]
Shit. [ He's going to get to his feet and just stand there for a moment because damn that was so intense, and he really just touched a man's nuts and then killed him.
He's like... the Black Widow.
Looking over at Kumon, he wanders over to him and Marceline. ]
[ she's going "ow, ow" while holding her rib, because she sure laugh cracked one, and she has to not look at garou in the eyes so she doesn't laugh again. so instead let's look at the bleeding normie ]
Yep. Ugh, I totally whiffed that fight. [ but she aims her healing spell at kumon while she still has it, so he isn't. still. bleeding out. ] That should do it. Okay, next turn, we maybe need... an actual strategy.
[ disgusting. awful. she hates not being able to solo things.
she looks sadly towards bubblegum in the stands, because she hasn't been gay in like 4 tags ]
[Their normie is having a Time of It still, and is very wobbly trying to get back on his feet. He's clinging onto the amber knives like they're his one last remaining point of sanity.
He can have a breakdown after whatever this is, but he has to keep it together until they win another round.... right? And then he can throw up like he kind of wants to right now.]
The voice booms through the air again, and as soon as the words fade: the screech of the metal gate opening once more. Demons will rush in and shunt you back into the holding area where you came from - you find yourself willing to go. You're so tired suddenly. But there's at least a bench here to sit and collect your thoughts while the demons slam the gate on you and lock you in and get to work cleaning up your efforts.
There's also drinks of ... hopefully water here, but if you try them, you'll feel instantly refreshed. All your health is back! And your hair, if you want it. I don't know your lives. Take a moment. Catch your breath. There's probably something to watch soon ... the arena is almost clear. ]
[ His eyebrows!! Garou is thirsty so he's just going to knock back a water before looking warily back at the arena.
Something twists uncomfortably in his stomach. He'd like a second to lament how shitty all of this is, but who knows how much time they have. ]
Healers and magic are the priority. [ Mostly because he's defenceless against magic. He doesn't know about the other two. ] I can go after any big guys.
[ after googling if marceline can drink water i still don't know so i am going to go with sure potions work on her and she takes a curious swig and feels better. also her hair is like artistically side shaved now because i can. and i have a lot of shaved icons. ]
Yeah. Basic party fight style. You go for support first. [ she doesn't look super happy about offering it, but; ] I have buff spells I can use, and probably the fire thing works better from further away. So... I'll try to stick to long distance style. I might be able to like... I don't know, distract those guys with illusions too or something.
[ horrid. she hates it. anyway she's looking very upset towards the stands because bubblegum is there and it makes her leg jittery. ]
Hey, Kumon, what did the paint do? Is it like using our colors basically?
[He will be drinking some water, and huh. They definitely put something in here, and he feels considerably better after all that. Not great, because this water only heals physical wounds, and he has many mental ones to work through later.
Kazunari's not even here for him to watch and be worried over. What happened to him? Is he out there being murdered?]
Uh... [Marcy asked him a question, he needs to answer. He wants to help- he feels sick- He gulps down some more water before answering.] when I used it, it felt like being more creative? I could attack twice. So maybe it's tied to what color it is?
[ you guys keep doing you guys but as you sit and talk, you may notice that out in the arena, they’ve cleared the horse legs away and they're preparing for another fight. it doesn't look like you're expecting to fight, so it's probably nothing to worry about.
you notice one of the pens nearby you is released into the arena. it looks like another balanced party like you. A tough looking punk wielding a taser, a kid who looks pretty young to be here, but seems to be wielding a battleaxe made from tire rims, a spellcaster in tattered robes and a book of magic wearing a menacing jagged black helmet over his face, and a elderly man wearing spiked pads with no weapon, cracking his fists.
you just see them from behind for now, so you can't really get a good glimpse of them, but there may be something naggingly familiar about one or two of them? Who could be sure.]
[ So the powers from the spray cans aren't quite the same as how they've manifested before. (He thinks to himself, because he's not helpful like that.)
But what he does offer up: ] I imbued my chainsaw with Scarlet too, and it just made me angry instead of setting anything of fire. Looks like it's more feelings bullshit.
[ He hates being tampered with on a normal basis, but he's particularly sour about it since the weird experience in trial.
Anyway, seeing the other party march out into the arena grabs his attention, and he's on his feet again, trying to figure out what the fork is going on. ]
[ yeah marcy was looking that way so she gets distracted mid talk, squinting vaguely at the people in the arena
familiar... hrmm... surely this is unimportant anyway ]
If it works or whatever. But if red makes you berserk Imma keep it for last resort. [ squinting harder into the distance. no seriously who are these people and why do they seem familiar... ] Maybe those guys have a better strategy?
[the familiar group heads out into the arena, as the crowd is roaring, still chanting for More! More! More!
from this angle you can see them a little more clearly. the punk with the taser has purple hair and flashes the metallic guards a scowl. the old man cracking his fists seems to speak a word of encouragement to the kid with the battleaxe, who gives a grim nod and pulls a metal animal mask down over his face. the spellcaster's jagged helmet almost gives the impression of a crown, and he watches everyone else warily from the side.]
