you want to go home. you want to remind people of the good things in the world. so maybe you should tell each other about those things. a fond memory of someone you love, the sense memory of a place you've visited time and time again...
It sounds as if the three of you may actually not have encountered one of our tasks, then. When we were given different locations to attend to, and encountered the individuals we knew... we were told we needed to remind them of what is important.
This appeared, ultimately, to be what helped keep them from refracting: a combination of such reminders, and a use of color.
[looks at bass's color problems before they both ran off. help]
We will likely need to fight, yes, but I believe we ought to show restraint in doing so. After all, we do not want to kill the two of them.
It may be best for enough of us to focus on fighting to... "sync" properly, while others put their focus into offering such reminders, or this-- "scanning".
We might need to adjust the numbers, if they're as strong as they look. But maybe those on the front lines can fall back when they need to, and we can take turns.
[ He hates this, so godsdamned much. He's so stressed and his shapeshifting effect is really just going off, furnishing him with claws, a scaled tail, what's looking like four horns atop his head... it's just his first CYOA all over again but worse. But he paces here, tail lashing behind him -- and breathes.
Okay. ]
I was forced to witness a figure, a mixture of Alphinaud -- someone important to me, from my world -- and Bass, refracting. We were told to remind them of what's important. I believe that is the cause for their state, and as I spoke to them of what they held dear and offered amber, they bled less colour, gradually... and then my 'task' was complete.
'Understanding', seems to be an important point. I think. Understanding and the bonds you hold with them -- something to keep them from losing hope to blackest despair.
[ He looks out into the horizon without focus unlike Garou. There's clearly some sense of trepidation and just generally being unsettled but they'll have to do what they can. Clawed hands arthurfisting quietly... ]

Okay, so basically-- we gotta stop both of them from refracting by doing a whole power of friendship junk at them? And throw color too.

Do we just talk at them or do we do the word thing? I dunno if they're much for listening in this state.

[He is. A little nervous about this because he doesn't want to have to face a dying Kashuu again... but he nods, taking a breath.]

It's likely we'll need to wear them down so that they'll listen.
