Anyway, she approaches the small and glittery thing while also poking around the other piles. Is there anything that stands out besides that thing?]

[Nothing really stands out. Broken plates, cups, a scratched painting here and there, general wrappers and trash.]

[The small glittery thing is a key that looks rather clean, unblemished.]

[She should recognize it.]

[It is because she recognizes it that she freezes.

For a long moment, she does nothing except stare at the key, a complicated expression on her face. Slowly, she lifts her hand as if to reach for it—

And then she drops her hand to her side, closing her eyes briefly before looking away from the key entirely so she can start to leave. It's easier to cut herself off entirely, after all.

[They are made out of brass! But as she observes them, she should hear a familiar male voice calling out behind her.]

She chances a look behind her, gripping onto the door like she's afraid she will be dragged away from it.]

[....There's a figure sitting on a pile of trash. But its hard to see. It looks vaguely like the owner of the voice that speaks -]

[And wouldn't you happen to know, there's the key again, at her feet. Like it never left.]

Nogiku...were you never planning to come back to me?

She looks away, turning her attention back to the door. In the darkening room, she keeps a hand on it, feeling around for the hinges with the other so she may lean closer to them — almost as if she intended to lay her lips on them. Gross.]

I don't have the time for this. So I'll ask nicely just this once... Cut the bullshit and let me out.

[The door suddenly has keys stuck on it. Copies of the same key, over and over again, in lines and rows.]

With the keys covering the door, can she get close to hinges at all to blow air into them?]

Truly hope this means she has keys stuck to her face now. She continues to ignore this dude.]

[Unfortunately, she brushes against some keys as she moves in, and they instantly slide into her cheek like fish into water.]

[Another voice sounds out instead of the voice from before - and there's something else here behind her, now, sitting on a chair.]

"Humans must sacrifice something to progress". Or... "Will you retrieve what you left behind, Nogiku"?

[Hm, bad? Again. She shudders at the sensation, touching a hand to her face where the keys slid as she pulls back — or tries to. It would be very funny if she was stuck to this door now, too.

One hand goes into her pocket, anyway.]

I know the name of everyone who bears burdens. Those who have left behind things. As humanity, sacrifice is a natural part of our lives.

[She can feel the keys just directly under her skin, sliding down to her neck. She isn't stuck to the door, but sure isn't nice to have stuff in your body! Especially keys!]

You left behind a welcome home for what? For progress, yes? For your revenge. Was it worth it?

[Also, maybe she can faintly hear Itsuki calling her name distantly in the church. Huh!]

... Does it matter? I will discard everything I cherish to stop her. Everything, even myself, to stop him from getting dragged into my destiny. It's the only way I'm allowed to live.

[But now, she sure can hear Itsuki's voice! The Dice Maiden has decided to show us kindness for once... And now, Nogiku feels an even greater sense of urgency to get out of here. From her pocket she retrieves two (2) nails — that she immediately brings to her lips to blow air into the metal. She's had enough of this dude, thank you.

Is there a door that looks like it might lead to the front of the church?]

So easy to say. And yet, while you gain strength, the burdens of your sins drown you in your wake. You could have had a life. And you threw it all away.

[Just as she moves to blow against the nails, the key releases a saran-like wrap, transparent, that slides over her nose and eyes, tightening. She can still breathe, but boy, is that uncomfortable.]

[And now, Itsuki has come in from the other side. Back together again!]

[Itsuki doesn't even hesitate -- he's being crushed and his arms are restricted and his shoulder's bleeding and there's saran wrap around his head, but he still has his legs.

He aims straight for the figure sitting on the chair, intending on a body-slam]

[Truly love that she's getting saran-wrapped while her face is probably still moist from her adult baptism.

She reaches up to try and tear at this shit all over her face, but—]
