[it's just nice to know so that they don't get startled by sudden appearances, really. so. she steps through the archway and finds herself in a small apartment. it's one room with a bathroom, though the room itself doesn't not entirely lived in and sparsely decorated. there are a few posters on the wall, but they are hard to make out. there is a clock on the wall by the door and there's a second clock on the wall by the bathroom. both of them appear to be set to different times. there's not much in the way of furniture though she'll immediately see there's a small couch along with a bed, blankets piled high and messy into a person-shaped sort of cocoon. the kitchen is mostly empty upon sight except for one whiteboard that reads: Never think of it as a thought. Think of it as freedom of expression.
against the wall across from the entrance there's a computer desk with a pc on it. it's idling, but there's a web browser open with a lot of tabs they can't see from their place. there's a nice comfortable gamer chair at the desk, and propped against the wall by the desk is a blue electric guitar. riff, meanwhile, is setting a second monitor up on a table in front of the couch. their sw*tch is connected to display the picture to the monitor, and there's a cup with a straw sticking out of it on the floor by the couch.
[....Huh. Well, its certainly fitting the mental image of what they expected Riff to have, what with their mention of an apartment in the first place. Nothing too overly personal, though the guitar draws her eye, what with its shade of blue.]
[She wanders over, giving them a nod, before sitting down on the couch, pausing to look over everything once more.]
[it's a nice shade of blue, frankly. but hot pants sits on the couch and riff is busy fiddling with their set-up before taking the j*ycons and coming to join her. they give her space, but they don't seem to mind she's there.]
thx part from the prism part from my own color when u spend a lot of time somewhere u want to make it comfortable right?
[they are busy booting up a game called br*ath of the w*ld.]
this is one of the kingdom ones its the most recent installment of the series the kingdom of hyr*le was a really advanced place until the bad guy named g*non showed up and was like "hey im gonna wreck ur entire kingdom" so now like thousands of years later the people of the kingdom realize that g*nons threat was actually true even though the kingdoms not thriving anymore the princess z*lda is busy doing her thing to learn to use the magic needed to fight him and then l*nk is a knight who can wield this special sword nobody else can its the sword needed to beat this guy too anyway tl;dr they all fight l*nk gets super injured z*lda put him somewhere to heal sealed herself inside the castle with g*non and l*nk wakes up 100 years later w/ no memories so the ghost of the king is like "hey good morning btw g*non is getting rly strong and u have to fight him before he ruins everything bye" so l*nk has to travel across the entirety of hyr*le trying to regain his memories purge the divine beasts of g*nons monsters find the sword and eventually fight g*non and save z*lda
Poor L*nk, though. Waking up...I can imagine how sad that is, waking up in a different time and everyone you know is gone. Though I guess without memories...its not too bad...
[now that they're more comfortable with hot pants they're find being slightly more talkative. but they take that into consideration as the game opens. time to run around this neverending map.]
yeah i think even without memories maybe a person would maybe at least still feel things? and l*nk regains memories as he travels and gets stronger so it makes u wonder whats worse not having those people around and not remembering or not having them and being the only one who remembers
[What would be worse, actually? That's a good question.]
Memories bring their own pain. [And she knows that well.] But in the end...I'd rather be the one who remembers. It means they live in some form, even if they're not there in the world. I'm sure whoever L*nk remembers would be happy to know he's still thinking about them in the future.
[they consider this for a second. is that true? is it better to remember that pain if it means the people lost live in some form?
it's a hard question, and for a quick second (possibly quicker than hot pants can register) a white line appears around riff's elbow. it fades almost immediately.]
usually games like these have a happy ending when u beat the villain so maybe hell get to be with people he remembers after all but ur probably right people count on him to save the day so theyd probably be happy to know that
[She nods - her eyes are on the screen, and she misses the change. It is a hard question.]
Being a hero, anyways...it's a burden. But I think maybe knowing that you've helped people, that you've saved people...maybe that's worth it all, in the end. The suffering and heartbreak. You did good in the world.
[i could have hot pants explain jesus christ but i will spare them that]
I guess so. It's more that...I think some have the ability to do something right in this world, and they've gone forward with that. But it's not an easy path. I've seen plenty suffer for it.
Maybe, but mostly, its because there's a plenty of evil in this world that won't stop at anything to prevent "heroes" from doing what they must. Where I come from, there's a man who leads a great country, but he claims to want power to make that country for the better. But he's just selfish and power-hungry. And he'll try to kill anyone who gets in his way.
that doesnt sound like a great leader cant people just vote him out of office or whatever? i guess its not that easy but it sounds like u need people to fight back people to change how bad things get if people are in a position of power and they keep winning and keep making decisions to gain more power just because they can nothing happens so people who can change things feel like they have to try even at the cost of everything
He's the President of the United States, and unfortunately, he's very popular. Doesn't change that what he's doing is wrong and vile on all accounts. He should be brought down for everything he wants to do.

[It almost makes her wonder what her "realm" would be, if she was one of them. Maybe something between this and Shale's.]
...Oh, this looks different than the other game. Is L*nk also fighting spirits here, or is this the kingdom fighting one?
no subject
its the most recent installment of the series
the kingdom of hyr*le was a really advanced place until the bad guy named g*non showed up and was like "hey im gonna wreck ur entire kingdom"
so now like thousands of years later the people of the kingdom realize that g*nons threat was actually true even though the kingdoms not thriving anymore
the princess z*lda is busy doing her thing to learn to use the magic needed to fight him and then l*nk is a knight who can wield this special sword nobody else can
its the sword needed to beat this guy too
anyway tl;dr
they all fight l*nk gets super injured z*lda put him somewhere to heal sealed herself inside the castle with g*non and l*nk wakes up 100 years later w/ no memories
so the ghost of the king is like "hey good morning btw g*non is getting rly strong and u have to fight him before he ruins everything bye"
so l*nk has to travel across the entirety of hyr*le
trying to regain his memories
purge the divine beasts of g*nons monsters
find the sword
and eventually fight g*non and save z*lda
[i'm so sorry.]
