Might be gross, but it does a world of good. [A huff, as she does a little twirl with it, like its a gun, before shoving it back in its holster.] It can heal practically any wound, you know.
I don't, really, but... I can keep an eye out for them? I guess it is kinda weird that there was an elephant running around. Usually it's like, chickens and tigers and stuff.
If you hear anything else, will you tell me? People always leave me out of stuff. [don't pout, bass.
Selchy says it's because I "act young." [they totally do the finger quotes.
... and then the bubble hits them both, bass letting out a little squawk as yellow sparks from their fingers.
So - who exactly are we looking for?
you ask, absently, as you walk down a busy, crowded street. this is just another day, another fun thing to do with your buddy. who is like, not paying attention, as usual. it's fine, he gets lost in his own head a lot, so you don't mind calling out to him.
you can't hear the name. it's just a record scratch. but you call for him, and he looks up at you like a deer in headlights.
and then, not too far away, you hear explosions. bursts of pink and yellow and blue go up down the street, and you startle.
Did you see that? They're shooting off fireworks! Let's check it out!
you yell, and you just take off, towards the bright colors. behind you, your buddy shouts for you to wait up, but you don't. he'll catch up, he always does. you skid to a stop a few yards away, watching as dogs howl and jump on cars, jump off cars to ram into people. these people are shooting beams of light from their hands, flying around the area, and for a minute, you think it's just really good special effects. they must be filming something.
you and your buddy watch, but - nobody else... seems to notice? and that's when the two of you realize you might be in danger.
above you, a booming voice calls out: A NEW GAME HAS BEGUN.
the chaos has come for you, now. an explosion so loud it nearly blows your eardrums out echoes to your left, and above you, two birds scream and divebomb your friend. he dodges, and you grab for his wrist, running as fast as you can across the crosswalk.
it happens so fast that you barely even register it. you hear... your name? maybe it's your name. and you look up, as a truck that had been thrown across the crossing crushes you.
Well, the past is still important. What you went through is what made you who you are. Your focus should be the here and now, but...its good to acknowledge those memories, too.

Really? I guess if it's useful that's not too bad. But you can't use it here, huh.

[...]
Say, have you seen those animals? The weirdly colored ones.
no subject
Oh - yeah. Riff has one in their house, I think. Why? [not those, bass]

no subject
I didn't see 'em. Were they more weird than normal, or?

[She pulls out her phone to show a very, very blurry picture of that winged horse.]
Horse running around in the medbay. Actually, there was that cat a few weeks ago, too...
no subject
[yes, thank you, bass]
I don't know anything about 'em, but... what d'you think? Think they're something like a bigger picture?
no subject
[..........She puts her phone away.]
Anyways, just wanted to see if you knew anything.
no subject
If you hear anything else, will you tell me? People always leave me out of stuff. [don't pout, bass.
also, another bubble is stealthing its way over.]
no subject
[POOR BASS?]
[Also too surprised to notice the bubble coming over.]
no subject
... and then the bubble hits them both, bass letting out a little squawk as yellow sparks from their fingers.
or - did it?]]

[She can't help it. She reacts instinctively, reaching for Bass's arm to push them out of the way of the oncoming truck-]
[Ah, and its gone. Hot Pants blinks, a little shocked.]
That was...
[That wasn't my memory.]
no subject
Aww, man. Not that one again. [surprise! it was theirs.]
no subject
[BASS??]
[She's looking at them with concern.]
You...did you survive that?
no subject
no subject
[She would know.]
Was this...somewhere else outside the Prism, then?
no subject
I don't remember it happening here.
no subject
[Mm. Residents and their memories...]
Regardless...you're here and alive, and well. That's what matters.
no subject
Yeah, it is what matters. I'm here, so. It doesn't really matter what happened there.
