Maybe. [he's not so sure, but it's worth a shot.] ...a few people went through some things based on my memories. Bass's, too. And now I have a few new things I've remembered, but I don't really know what to do about them. I know what the right answer is, but I don't know how to approach it or what to do about it.
...Well, I think the fact that you're trying to figure that out is progress.
[ he smiles a little. not knowing where to go or what to do is natural, especially when you're overwhelmed, but riff is making an effort rather than wallowing and there's something to be said for that. ]
Do you feel like your opinion on the prism's changed since we first arrived here?
[he folds his arms over his chest as he frowns to himself, really mulling over the question.]
...a little, yes. And I know that everyone has to leave, even if that thought's depressing, but I think the one decision that's left is if we're going to leave or not.
I mean isn't that kind of an answer? [it is not.] I guess I'm just thinking...I don't really know yet. I don't know if I want to go back to exactly how things were before.
...I can see why it'd be a tough call. But I don't think things would ever be exactly the same. Things have changed—most importantly, I think you've changed.
And that's fine, but me changing doesn't mean that the situation back where I came from has changed. And I don't know how to fix that yet, so I'm not sure if I want to go back.
[ he looks thoughtfully across all the little drawings. he thinks riff's grown—enough that things can be different now, wherever he decides to go—but it's not always that easy. ]
Well... I don't think you'll figure out how to fix it from here. I'm not sure if there's anything that'll confirm that in advance for you. [ if only it were that easy. he hasn't known for sure that the dead can come back to life, either. ]
To me... the question is whether you think it's worth trying, and if you believe in your capability to do something.
[...which is very solid advice, he would agree. so there's a moment he seems to think this through.]
Of course it's worth trying, but I don't even know what to try or how it's possible. But I guess that's a different problem, and we should just focus on getting you guys back.
Honestly, sometimes... you just have to stumble through it. Besides, you have everyone else here to help you figure things out now, right? [ sometimes you walk into a courtroom problem and have no idea what you're doing and just have to keep going.
anyway, he puts his hands on his hips. ] And stop trying to deflect, we're talking about you.
Unless you know something about timetravel and fixing the way all of my friends have been erased from my current timeline, I'm not sure talking about me is going to help at the moment.
[ he did, and he's giving the board another scrutinizing look, though this time his attention isn't really on the drawings. ]
Right... I've wondered about that. If we do figure out how to get out of here, is there any reason someone couldn't go to your world to help you...? I'm, uh, not an expert with these things. But there's so many people here from extraordinary circumstances—don't you think someone could help you come up with a solution to your problem?
[ he's already resolved to help a few people if they can escape this place, so. ]
Maybe, but then there's the new problem of how to get them back to where they belong, or if anything else will happen to them that could damage them. Shibuya...is technically safe right now. It's just that my friends are gone. That's all I want to fix, but I don't know if doing that would undo what I've already done to save it.

Ah, I'm like that a lot of the time too.
[ sometimes it takes a while for all the different points in his head to draw themselves into a line. ]
...Maybe if you tell me what you're thinking, I can help? [ he's used to trying this with sholmes ]

So which way are you leaning? Leave or not?

[that does not answer the question.]
Leaving isn't just up to me right now. I have to ask a few people before I decide for myself.

...You're avoiding the question. I already know what we're working towards. ...I want to know what you're thinking.
