[They void cannot consume them. They have Pride Parade goats to fight.
But she just looks a little wry at that.]
... Right. I guess no one really told you about where we went the other day, or what happened to us. [Riff, your lore.] Would you like to hear about it now?
Really? You have lived in the Prism for far longer than us, so...
[Please give Riff deets more often, smh. Either way, she shrugs.]
We found ourselves in a place called Inazuma. A reflection of Steel-san's memory... supposedly. [Steel is not sure of that, actually.] While in that place, a woman named Kazari requested our help to cleanse the "filth" from a sacred tree. We had to do this three times, over the course of 120 years, while offering the same prayer each time.
The first time, we fought two creatures called "tofu boys." But the second time... Our opponents were people we had met in the Prism. And for the third ritual, Itsuki Kagami and Su Jiuqing became monstrous creatures, and we were made to attack each other.
That doesn't mean anything. Even the other three don't always tell me stuff sometimes. [which is...its own thing, but they seem focused elsewhere now.]
Why do you guys keep getting sent places to fight each other...? Are the others okay? Have you talked to Steel about it?
My guess is that it's what the Prism wants... for whatever reason.
[Or maybe she's just anti-Prism. It's a mystery.
She glances away, briefly, when they ask if the others are okay.]
... They died. But it seems like it wasn't a true death, so they're okay now. [A light, one armed shrug.] We talked to Steel for as long as we could, but they had to leave before the hour was up.
...a fight to the death. [that sucks, actually! dislike!] Someone told me they were concerned about people getting trapped in those places and maybe dying, but I didn't think it was possible. Now I'm starting to wonder. I'm glad they're okay now.
[they ruminate on this though.]
Did they seem to remember much of anything when you told them?
Think about it this way, Nogiku. If you didn't remember stuff and suddenly had a bunch of memories and changes dropped on you without warning and without asking for it, wouldn't you be a little unhappy at first, too? It's kinda jarring...even if it does fill in some gaps, sort of.
A question, then. Between the version of "you" you have begun to rediscover, and the "you" we met several weeks ago— would you say you prefer one over the other?
Maybe the prism's learning habits? Everybody got so organized one week, it started repeating it. I'm not sure if that's true, but...it does learn, sometimes.

she pauses, to stare at them. there's some recognition there now.]
... Hey. [hm.] I remembered my prayers.

also, that gets a look of confusion from them.]
...I don't know what that means, Nogiku.
[nobody told them about any of the people who disappeared and came back, so they're fuzzy on details.]

People don't usually update me on that kind of stuff, so...[it is fine.] If you're okay talking about it, then yeah. I want to know.

... Are those your personal feelings on the matter, Riff-san?

...maybe a little. It's fine though.

Anyway...even if Steel didn't seem happy, it was probably still important to them and they'll appreciate it later.

Hmm... We'll see. For now, I'll consider myself lucky that we weren't struck down by lightning.

...you know, I'd probably consider you lucky too now that you mention it. [...] Glad you're back. And that your memories are back.

[The Prism sucks, actually.]
By the way, have you figured out why these things keep happening? It's almost as if they were running on a schedule.
