SCARLET

Destruction. Transformation. Bravery.

Scarlet, furious, color of avengers and prophets, banner of the righteous, essence of blood. Courage, passion, heat, and sacrifice, Scarlet is a color that is focused externally. Scarlet wishes to destroy, or take things apart, for any reason. It is the color of bravery, standing up to wrongs, destroying what needs to be destroyed. But it is also the color of explosive tempers, unfocused destruction, anger, and of violence and pain.

Amber cares greatly for its relationship with people. It is the color of selflessness, community, protection, and confidence in the goodness of others. It cares for what it belongs to, for what it relates to, and what it knows; it puts what it loves first and foremost. But it is also the color of neglecting the self, taking too much responsibility, and being overly dependent on others.

Sunrise, color of the bright eyed, the wild whipping wind of change, numbing and perfect. Optimistic, full of cheer, exubrant and loud, Sunrise is a color that is focused both internally and externally. Sunrise is determined, driven, ambitious, but with a warmth and care for others; moving forward should not come at the expense of anybody. But it is also a color of denial, delusion, forced positivity, and an inability to accept present circumstances.

Verdant, heavy and viscous as tar, enveloping canopy, invulnerable shield, arbiter of scale. Balanced, healing and calming, Verdant is a color focused externally. Verdant offers preservation and stability, a cyclical growth that never extends too far past its boundaries. It is the color of acceptance, recovery and clear vision, watching with an unbiased eye. It is kind; it nurtures, without ambition. The world may not change, but it will do what it can to make its small part better. But it is also a color of stagnation, avoidance, and the anxiety that comes from staying neutral.

Marine, approaching storm, bringer of death, searing whip, executioner’s blade. Thoughtful, concerned, and emotional, Marine is a color focused internally. Marine is concerned with the past, with the actions it has taken, and what it could or could not have done better. It is the color of self-awareness, taking responsibility, and sadness, nostalgic or severe. But it also the color of self-absorption, being mired in regret, and being incapable of moving on.

Heliotrope, vibrant, chameleon of colors, mysterious tale, lair of the arcane. Creative, vibrant and imaginative, Heliotrope is a color focused externally and internally. Heliotrope is curious, slipping its paws under every door with the need to know, thoughtful to the point of having its head in the clouds. It is arrogant, artistic, and inventive, asking questions and creating answers with whatever means necessary. But it is also the color of self-centeredness, unrealistic expectations, and dishonesty.

Metallic is full of charm, charismatic in the way a pen is the mightiest of swords, and the way a blade is sharper than words. It is courageous, confident, and desires power - either for itself, or for the sake of using it for others. But it is the color of conceit, unmoving and stubborn resolve, and ostentatious behavior.

Crystalline is strategic, full of the desire to protect oneself and, possibly, others, a dedication to a duty it has taken upon itself. It is the color of intellect, insight, and desire for power, whatever that may mean to it. But it is also the color of ruthlessness, lack of passion, and distrust, numbness.

POWERS

► As of Sunday, Weekend Zero, you can focus and summon a burst of your primary/complementary colors. You will find that after doing this, you feel cold and drained for a little while. You can only do so much: two times a day, with eight hours between recharges.

► You can summon both your primary and complementary colors. Different colors can do different things.

► Scarlet can create a small flame, about as much as striking a match. Amber can create small objects that provide warmth and fill you with a sense of calm. Sunrise can provide a small boost to a different color, increasing the strength or amount of what they create. Marine can create cool, fresh water, about a cup full. Verdant can create a handful of nourishing food. Heliotrope can create a small image or sound that lasts for about a minute. Metallic can increase the strength or sturdiness of an object. Crystalline can duplicate any of these at half strength.

► When you’re fighting local monsters/wildlife of the Prism, you can “imbue” one of your colors onto a familiar weapon - e.g. something you’ve brought with you, have made or obtained here, or your beautiful beautiful fists. When you’re doing this, you’ll drain yourself of energy, but it will more effectively drive off/kill monsters. After a few minutes this effect will fade. Your color will only affect monsters, not other PCs. This is mostly just for flavor text.

► For the sake of everyone's sanity: you can make any shade under any color you have primary or complementary. But you get the sense that these shades belong to certain colors so a shade will always read as associated with whatever its main color is. You cannot make shades that are not on the list.
