crow blinks. doesn't flinch exactly, because... well. maybe he's just dead inside (haha) after days of such joys as the distant honking of clowns; or the patrols of the poison spitting beasts. but he does twitch. ]
Friend back home. He had all this Calvardian kinda stuff in his dorm room back in the day -- I'm guessing it's from his sword training or something.
[ At the very least, no honking is happening currently. ]
I see. I'm afraid I'm not familiar. However, now that you mention it, perhaps it could use a training room of some sort ... many of you seem to be lacking in that area.
Eight Leaves One Blade doesn't ring any bells? It's some kind of katana traditional fighting style, with only a few true masters or something. [ a big shrug. ]
... Maybe. Especially if those monsters are going to be stomping around various areas with any kind of regularity. There might be some people who'd be happy for a few self defence lessons.
[ Something like a laugh, maybe? At least a sound of slight amusement. ]
It is not one of the sword arts I am familiar with. It is unsurprising. Many abound, touted by some martial instructors hoping to leave their name on the world, and earn little renown in the end.
[hm!]
Do you believe so? They would want for a place to gather?
If I knew anything about it, I'd show you. But I'm pretty sure it's some kind of cursed sacrilege to use the moves without being a student? They seem pretty intense. [ ... ] It's like a whole life discipline, but... I guess that's the same for any fighting art. You train, you keep improving, something like that. Even a master's not a master.
[ sounds like someone has a personal opinion on the renown of martial arts students... ]
You could ask? Asking's a free action. But there are clowns out there, running free. They're pretty threatening.
That much is true. To reach Kaiden is the end of one journey, and the beginning of another. Letting your skills rest on achievement alone is a quick way to meet a messy end.
[ a LOT of personal opinions, apparently. ]
They are not that threatening ... But I will consider it. It isn't a bad idea. It has been a while since I have had a proper sparring partner at any rate.
Then, if you are asking my opinion on my own training, I would consider myself disciplined in a large variety of styles. I've created my own sword art, you know.
That so? Like, a specific move or part of a whole sword style?
[ ooh mx steel, oooh ]
I know my way around a couple of weapons. One’s more recognisable than the other, because there isn’t really anyone else who uses it, and then other’s more of a cover for that.
So, like the Eight Leaves One Blade school. What’s yours?
[ snob…. ]
No one else really uses my other weapon. And I have a reason to want to not be immediately identified because I’m something like the only currently recognised use of it.
crow, actually, looks a little troubled by that. ]
I don't think you can force these things back but... triggering slightly similar memories might help. Or, having something sharp and significant happen can do it. Depending on whether this is manipulation, or general amnesia.

For a long moment. And then ... slithering? Scales. The candles flicker. A voice, seemingly from nowhere:]
Who is Rean?

The final stage of mastery of martial art.

I suppose I use anything that is available to me. I've trained on most weapons throughout my life.
