cut them some slack its been a long week the bullying can start tmmrw tho
[...with that though, the blanket lump wiggles briefly and they finally poke their head out. they almost appear even more shrouded in shadows of a blue-black variety despite being a solid form and their eyes are a brighter yellow. on the other hand, the cup of tea is empty. thanks jiuqing.]
[it's difficult to say what sort of expression they have, but they somehow do look a little cautious as they nod and send another message. this one plays back as audio though.]
u were here long enough it felt weird thx again for the tea
[oh! well... since it's audio, maybe she should speak out loud? she'll keep an eye on them to make sure they don't seem to uncomfortable with it, though.]
You're welcome. I hope it helped; I've always found that a cup of tea helps me to relax when I need to get some rest.
...but, really, if you're more comfortable not showing yourself... I don't mind. I don't want you to be uncomfortable in your own space.
[they really only use audio when they have to speak to a large group or when they're comfortable one on one, so they shake their head.]
ya im not rly good at making it myself even tho theres a kettle in the cabinet somewhere and i like cold teas but a hot tea sounded good rn anyway ur already here so its ok
[they will simply stay mostly in their blankets except for their head apparently.]
thats nice of u thx shale makes tea sometimes too and its usually hot i dont think one is better than the other so dont worry about it daxing is where ur from?
I think I get along with all four of you, for the most part...? I'm not entirely sure where I stand with Steel, but I like them well enough myself.
[they actually seem willing to talk to her so that kind of feels like a victory?]
Well... compared to here, I'm told that Daxing seems "old-fashioned" or "traditional". It never seemed that way to me, though. [it just kind of was...? she's from a historical-ish canon but like, that's her present.] The capital city is large and sprawling, and the nicest neighborhoods are near the imperial palace. I have a clinic in one of the less affluent parts of the city, but I left it in my mother's care to follow the army and serve as a doctor near the border.
i feel like with steel u would know right away if they didnt like u so ur probably safe haha thats hard to imagine but it doesnt sound bad u must be really smart if ur a doctor already too why did u decide to follow the army?
That's true... they don't really come off as the type to put up with someone they don't like.
[she hums.]
A few reasons. I was worried about the war already, since we'd been losing a lot of battles before General Lin was given command of the army. But then one of my friends, who comes from a military family, told me that she was going to go in disguise to join the fight even though her family wanted her to stay home where it was safe.
Her brothers all trained to serve in the military, and she trained, too - although women aren't supposed to enlist where I'm from. But that never stopped her.
[tang yujiao is a badass.]
She's just as skilled with weapons as any man. And I'm one of the best doctors in the country, second only to my master - [this may not actually be true but canon has not shown us any doctors better than her other than the dude who taught her so she has a bit of an ego] - so why shouldn't we go? We'd do more good there than we would staying in the capital, waiting for everyone to come back.
And it's a good thing we went, too! There was plague in one of the cities at the borders. They were lucky I was there to handle it. Things were starting to get better before I ended up here... I hope everyone is alright.
whoa that does sound pretty impressive if ur that skilled im sure its ok if u were helping treat it but a plague sounds bad how did something like that start?
[(me humming songs from mulan as i wrote that tag)]
It was because of how many people were dying during the war... the enemy army was just leaving bodies where they cut them down. It was such a mess, disease ran rampant quite quickly.
It was dangerous, too, for the townspeople to go out and try to retrieve the bodies for burial... what if the other army was still around?
[she sighs]
But they were getting better. They were well enough to travel, anyway... we were in the process of getting ready to evacuate them to a safer location, because it looked like the Yan army was going to attack the city again...

I'm used to making tea... I drank it quite often in Daxing. If ever you'd like some, you can let me know.
[she traded chocolates for tea with buzen so she has a Stash now.]
Granted, I usually make it hot, but... I can put it in the cooling box in the apartment to make it cold, I think?
[it's called a refrigerator, jiuqing]
