I'd rather nobody get executed, but if it has to happen, I'd rather it be over quickly, too. [they take a sip as well.] But things aren't usually that straightforward here. This place operates based on feelings and emotions.
It's good to be intentional. Both a goal and an idea. If the goal is stop what happened to Kazuma and Ryunosuke from happening again, that's one I can get behind. But the plan could use a little work, getting angry at the prism and telling it to stop doesn't feel like the right one to me.
[that's something else she can agree with! she nods again.]
...I know it won't be that simple. If it was, all of this wouldn't have escalated in the first place. It was pretty obvious that we weren't happy with the weirder things that happened the first week.
But... I definitely want to find a way to prevent what happened to Sir Naruhodo and Sir Asogi from repeating itself. I don't want to lose anyone else like that.
Using your feelings and the things you want to try to guide the prism isn't a bad idea, but it's a tricky instrument. And...whatever is happening right now, I don't think any of you wished it into existence.
It's not, but I don't want to forget that this is hard for you too. We're relying on you a lot... it would be a little unfair if we didn't acknowledge your struggles and try to help. They're just as real as ours are.
I think...obviously, our situations are different. This is our home, while for you guys it's someplace you're not sure you want to be. But even so, I tend not to like to think of people as groups. There's no you and we right now, there's just Jiuqing and Shale. You won't feel the same about it as the rest of the newcomers do, and I probably don't feel exactly the same as Riff, Bass, or Steel.

1/2
Well, what I'm feeling is that I'd like it if this would stop.
2/2
But that... is probably not helpful.

[they don't seem bothered by it.]
Anger can be useful, but better when it has focus.

Used correctly, anger is a very useful tool. But if you let it run away with you...

I wish I did.

I'm sorry. This must be even stranger for all of you than it is for us... you're used to things being peaceful here.

...that's a really good way of looking at things, Shale. Thank you for sharing your perspective with me. It's been really helpful.
