there's a pause, and then - they echo that bravery. a burst of adrenaline, no thinking, just - go. just do it. this is the sort of thing that drives riff nuts, but he's not thinking about that now.
instead, he grins, and glances up at vax. he wiggles free! and starts to fall.
and he goes, and goes, drops and drops, and it's just a touch too close before suddenly a vibrant splash of color, bright searing yellow, bursts from his back. wings appear, and he avoids the ground entirely, whooping.]
[laughing, he tries to like - arrange himself a bit, figuring out how to fly with these things. and then, after a minute, like a kid learning how to do a flip underwater, he clumsily zooms forward and does a really lopsided flip.
