[as soon as he looks with the intention of finding the jade archway, it will appear before him. stepping through the jade arch feels like stepping into a soothing landscape painting. the atmosphere goes grey, but rather than the monochrome of other areas, it's the mist of morning fog, still hanging low in the air. his feet touch down onto dirt and grass. he is standing in a quaint country garden. there are tall, dark green trees all around and rolling hills far away, but in the immediate vicinity is a flat, empty area with a few fenced in garden patches. the fenced in area in front of him looks to be a tidy herb and vegetable garden patch. there's a small shed towards the back of the garden, and gardening tools are scattered about.
in the distance he can see a pond and across the pond, far away, a small cottage with smoke billowing from the chimney. there are a few stone statues scattered about the garden, but none of them appear to move.]

[through the archway he goes! right into a little apartment. it's a cozy place, a studio, with one bathroom and a small kitchen. clothes lay scattered all across the floor, in the type of way that they might when someone is too lazy to fold the stuff they're taking off. there are posters on the wall, though they're fuzzy and out of focus, and there's a tv and couch in the middle of the room. it's nice and warm in here.
there's color here, too, which might be important to note. the walls are white, but the posters are bright and eyecatching, and the various decorations across the room are rainbow in nature.

anyway!! this is cool. you can learn a lot about someone from the stuff they have around them and observing them, and the color is sort of unique (especially after seeing steel's room earlier) (no offense steel).

[shale is sitting at the table near their garden, some tea in a teapot already set out and warm. it's a little darker here, as though night has fallen, but still misty with clouds. they look up when vax steps through the archway.]

[ vax is back in his usual clothes now - his hood pulled up over his head, his cloak pulled tight around his shoulders, and he strides with a purpose. shale has a calming air, but its hard to be calm, because that feeling of being trapped in that secret little passageway, of feeling forced to grabbing the gun, is weighing so heavily in familiarity that he can't seem to just settle in after that little game. ]

[this time when he steps through the archway he might notice a few changes almost immediately. there's the clock on the wall by the door, but there's now a second clock on the wall by the bathroom. both of them appear to be set to different times. the blankets on the bed are piled high and messy into a person-shaped sort of cavern. there are a few snack wrappers scattered on the counter like someone was eating and just didn't get around to throwing out the garbage, and the one whiteboard now reads: Never think of it as a thought. Think of it as freedom of expression.
also there's now a blue electric guitar propped against the wall by the desk. it has clearly never been touched.
besides all that, riff is on their couch, back against the arm of it and legs pulled to their chest as they seem to be staring intently at their phone. vax is sneaky-sneak, so they likely don't realize he's there.]

[ the benefit of being sneaky is that you can just sort of sneak in and read the room before anything happens, so. vax takes a long moment before he comes in to just look at the whiteboard, and winces, a little internally.

[ hello hello, welcome to my cave. it's been a while since he's been in here - nothing much has changed. It's still dark in here, full of candles, but there's a low table in the room with a tea set on it and a few tiny little pink cupcakes, and a ... window? There is no sun outside, it seems like. It's what looks like a zen garden. Or at least, the sand part of one. Endless patterns drawn, stretching out to the horizon, and a gray, swirling sky. Empty. A bit hypnotizing.

[me checking to see when vax was last here and it was w1 so here we go!
vax sneaks into the archway and the first thing he'll notice is something's different. like. obviously so. instead of entering right into the room, there's now a hallway. there are now three clocks in various shapes and sizes mounted on the wall of the hall, each displaying a different time. it's a short walk down the hall and it opens up into a main room. it's about the same as their original room albeit slightly bigger and more filled in. there's now a small tv in front of the couch with their sw*tch docked on a table. the bed is still against the wall, but it looks a little more lived in, blankets still balled up and pillows thrown carelessly. the kitchen now has a few things on the counter; there's a tabletop stove, a microwave, and what looks like a thing to instantly boil water in addition to the small fridge and sink that's always been there. the whiteboard is also still there. today, there's a quote: fear is nothing but an illusion, lead your own way...
there's also a list that simply says NOTES, but the section under it seems to have a bunch of question marks under it instead.
the posters on the wall are a little more clear. it's obvious that they're posters for bands, and a few pictures of brightly colored creatures but it's hard to say what they look like. the band names are mostly blurred out. next to the desk there's now a small bookcase that seems to have a few little trinkets and books on it. above the bookcase is a window, small and covered in dark blue curtains and above the desk is yet another clock with a different time. on the desk itself there are a few other small trinkets, little figurines of creatures that are hard to make out due to being fuzzy around the edges. the pc is on but its screensaver is up and the chair is empty.
riff is on their couch scrolling through their phone, but they sit up upon realizing someone's there. when they look at vax, their eyes are no longer an obnoxiously bright solid yellow, softened down to more of a golden color and easier to look into. their form is no longer that of a solid void either, more greyscale now with definition. they appear to have a slightly smaller frame and while it's hard to really see since it blends in, they appear to be wearing something that looks a little big on them. they still do not have a nose or a mouth though.

it's bustling and busy. people with no faces walk up and down the concrete, in all manners of fashion and style. stores line the sidewalks, from various food places to trendy shops full of teenagers on their phones. it's overwhelmingly modern, with a huge digital billboard advertising blurry products and neon lights everywhere, buildings towering over him. cars honk occasionally at the stops, but never seem to move. the people here walk right through vax, like he isn't even there.
