ROLE: Elephant John
ELEPHANT JOHN
Today, regardless of wherever Emet-Selch is, he will soon receive a text message from Bass.
hey!! come thru!!
Emet-Selch doesn't really have time to question what they mean by this, because immediately a shimmery, yellow archway erects before him.
As Emet-Selch enters through the archway he'll find himself in what appears to be an empty street. Walking down this street leads to a towering building with an archway covered in greenery. This area seems to be sort of like a covered patio, with several stores lining the inside of the tower, though all the names are blurred out. One sells clothing, another sells food, another sells tourist trinkets and novelty items. And in the middle of these stores is a giant planter filled with a vibrant splash of technicolor trees and bushes.
Sitting on this planter is Bass. They lift a static-y, melting hand.
"You made it! Come here, I've got something to show you."
And they hand Emet-Selch a laminated piece of paper. It looks kind of like a menu for a restaurant.
RULES
1. Dream something up!
2. Decide who you want to send a message and send them that Dream!
3. It has to be someone different each week, no repeats. Sorry!
4. Don't tell anybody. Seriously.
After reading the rules, Emet-Selch will find that an image becomes the home screen of his phone. He'll also feel something... sticky... appear on the back of his hand as a temporary tattoo of the same image appears. Only you can see the phone background and tattoo, and they both persist outside of this area.
Once the brand settles in, Bass tilts their head.
"Oh. That's probably fine? Anyway, I'm here to explain if you have questions!"

...of course it was.
[he shakes his head, exhaling.]
Fine. Precisely what are the guidelines, then-- I take it this is, literally speaking, just a dream they will have at night? And will this be at all restricted in terms of things such as level of detail?
[helpful to know if this is a broad concept sort of thing or one to get very specific with.]

I think the way it works is like - you add color together, and I'll help kind of... solidify it? And you can come up with the general way you want the dream to go for them. You can tell them stuff, remind them of things, or just give them good vibes or whatever.
Uh - but they are dreams, so like. It might go kind of weird in practice.
no subject
[there absolutely will not be good vibes here unfortunately.]

[said with a light huff. it is the biggest pain in the ass to him for this color stuff to be tangential to his actual skills but undeveloped.]
Then I will have to consider the best person to test this on, for a first attempt.

[they forget stuff sometimes.]
It was really short notice.

[so, like.
one he likes and one he doesn't feel bad about messing with in a dream,]
no subject
Do you have any ideas?
no subject
For the other... I suppose my guidelines will be looser.
no subject
That's a good way to start. You never know when you might need someone close to you. [...] You're gonna send someone a bad dream, aren't you.
no subject
[and he feels better not doing that to people he's decided he sort of maybe likes just fine. let him live.]
For the former category, Percy, I think. We share a floor, and so I am likely to notice if he is off at all upon waking. For the latter.... Garou.

Sounds good to me. This is all up to you, I'm just helping you send them along. They're really strong dreams, so everybody you send them to will remember all the details.
What d'you think you're going to send? It can be like... a concept, or you can be really specific? It might not turn out the way you want the more detailed you get, like - things might get lost in translation.

Okay, well you gotta tell me now. I'm dying to know.

[and since the color associations aren't default ic knowledge:]
Which is best applied to what type of purpose?
no subject
Uh. [hold on they're trying to like, work through this knowledge.]
So like - Scarlet is for force or anger. Amber is for warm and fuzzy feelings. Verdant is balance and healing, Marine is thoughtful and sometimes sad, Heliotrope is creative and kind of a liar, Metallic is confidence and sometimes stubbornness, and Crystalline is intellect and distrust.
So I guess maybe Scarlet? Forcefully make him ashamed of his behavior, I guess. You can mix other things in there too though.
[they didn't talk about sunrise? it's fine.]

[he doesn't understand why someone would make a sapient being out of candy but she exists. so.]
And what of your own?
[don't think he didn't catch that, if he's working with these he'll need to know.]
no subject
a long pause, as they look off into the distance.]
Um, excitement and I guess denial. [they say, quickly.]
no subject
[uh huh, bass. okay.]
...very well. I shall keep all of this in mind.
no subject
Anyway, yeah. Just tell me when you wanna try it out. It takes some getting used to, to focus on putting it together.
no subject
[goes off to submit except i'm putting them in backwards ooc i have to figure that one out,]
no subject
[and if he has more questions, bass is here!]
no subject
-why the need for secrecy?
no subject
Is there really anybody you want to tell?
