How'd your whole family get into theater like that?

[9mon]

It's kinda funny, right? But it's just the three of us.

Muku hurt himself during a track and field event, so he couldn't participate. He happened to catch a Spring troupe show, and decided to audition for Summer when they did tryouts. Juza's always wanted to be an actor since he was little, but he didn't really have a chance to until last year. They both shine so brightly up on stage. Muku looks so confident and Juza really belongs up there.

I tried auditioning 'cause I wanted to be with my brother. Summer helped me a bunch and I ended up joining them.

Do you like acting? Or is it more about spending time with Juza and Muku?

[9mon]

At first it was to spend time with them, but I ended up really liking it.

It's really hard though, acting like another person and trying to understand why they're doing what they are.

[saturations]

That does sound hard. Especially if you're trying to understand someone who isn't really real.

[9mon]

Right? But you gotta make them real on the stage. The audience can tell when you're getting your character or when you don't. So it's really important, but it's one of the hardest skills for me.

So what do you do to get better at it?

[9mon]

It's... hmm... You try thinking about the character in different ways like... "Why did they do this" and "why would I do something like this".

That's pretty smart. It's a good way to get inside someone's head, trying to picture yourself in that situation.

[9mon]

Juza's amazing at it. When you see him on stage it's like he is the character.

[saturations]

I bet you're pretty good, too.

[9mon]

I'd like to get that good one day!

[saturations]

[a rumble of laughter.]

Have you ever asked him to teach you?

[9mon]

Tenma, the leader of Summer Troupe, is in charge of my training. I'll ask Juza when I see him again.

I like being able to talk about them. Thanks for listening.

[...they glance at their little cottage. smoke is pouring from the chimney; it looks cozy inside. but they shake their head.]

No, I'll probably just make it with color. Unless it's tea or food you want; that I like to make the old fashioned way. What were you thinking?

[this boy has very few thoughts.

Um... My script for Love out of Left Field? Is that possible?

...I've never read it, so I don't know how well I could make it. Maybe if you act it out for me?

[And so he will perform, miming all of the character's actions and doing his best to play all the roles.

It's a little silly because he's standing in specific places for each character, to clearly indicate who he's talking to and who he is at the moment.

His acting isn't terrible, but it's a little bit stiff, especially for any role that isn't Akiyama.]
