...I still don't actually know what shipping is...
[rip]
I'm alright. The exact circumstances aren't something I'm used to, but I'm adjusting. And it's been fun to learn about places I'd never heard of before.
I bet. It's been neat to hear you guys all figure out how to hang out in the prism.
-- Oh, but, okay. Hold up, so shipping is like when you have two people in a show or a book or something? And you want them to hold hands or kiss or whatever.
[they sneeze, and then roll over, tail wagging idly.]
I guess I don't really feel one way about it. It's weird that the prism decided this is what we wanted, though. It's usually better about figuring out stuff.
I wanted a nice place for you guys to live in, mostly. It doesn't seem very fair that you all have to sleep in that broken down mansion or like, outside.
It's kind of you to look out for us like that. Thank you.
[...]
Has it been harder to communicate with the prism since we arrived, or is it maybe just... confused... now that there are so many of us to listen to? I'm sure there must be a lot of different things we all want.
Nah, I don't think it's that it's harder - I think the second option is more it, y'know? There's a lot of people now.
... It's been the four of us for a long time. So now it's gotta listen to a bunch of people and I think it maybe got confused or panicked and just spat out stuff.
Shale says it doesn't really work like that, but it's more reassuring if I think about the prism like that.
It makes sense in theory, even if that's not exactly the way it works! I know it's hard for me to focus on what's being said when a lot of people are talking all at once.
It can be really comforting, y'know? [the dog starts to... melt, sort of. they're very comfortable, apparently, and it's harder to keep form like this.]
It's a nice presence to have. Always there, always looking out for us.
If it's used to just the four of you, so many of us must be quite the adjustment... with you four and all of us, that's somewhere around forty people here now, isn't it?
To suddenly be dealing with ten times as many people as usual in such a short time... I'd be overwhelmed too.

Pretty sure it's short for relationship.

she is coming to the realization that one of her friends from home is a shipper. oh, god, wait. wait a minute.]
So if my mother met a nice man and I was hoping that they would get together, I was... shipping them?

Yeeeeeeup. [rps...]

Ah... I'm not sure how I feel about that.

What is it that you actually wanted, then...? Since it seems to have... misinterpreted.

You're right, I think. I mean, I can't be sure - the prism doesn't really talk like people do, but I think you have the right idea.

What? Yeah! Yes! [.-.]

Oh... good. Your form started to change so suddenly, I was worried something was wrong.

[they say this so casually.]

[she'll just casually resume giving them pets i'm so sorry she's 100% thinking of them as a dog and she's weak to cute animals]
no subject
Nah. You shouldn't really worry in general, this place takes good care of us.
no subject
I'm sure it will take good care of the rest of us, too, once it get used to us.
[(me laughing in how this comment won't age well once murder starts happening)]

I think you're right, boss. It's just getting used to all the new people.

[they laugh a little.] But yeah. Shale always talks about how things take time. I'm not really all that patient but if they say so, I can try.
no subject
...I prefer things to be done quickly, myself, but I can wait when I have to. But... waiting is easier when you have friends to wait with you.
