anyway who says there's going to be another murder paranoid tbh]
Good. I like talking to people, but I don't generally mind if it's me they talk to or not. But ... all of that stuff about the prism, the Dreamer stuff, I don't like it still lingering.
Maybe... but you said it was just the four of you here for quite a while, didn't you? I had imagined this would have been as new to you as it is to the rest of us.
It is new to us, and we don't have answers for you, exactly. But we know what the prism is. If you tell us what's going on with you guys, maybe there will be something we can say to help. Instead of finding something that casts things in the worst light and listening to it without trying to talk to us.
...what do you think of it, then? About... what was found last week, involving the "Dreamer," and then what happened after that with Sir Naruhodo and Sir Asogi...
[unfortunately jiuqing doesn't get more dreamer deets from vin until thursday and this thread is on wednesday. rip.]
It's... very unsettling. Something affected the two of them, unless we all just read them wrong and they were the type to attack each other out of the blue...
It is unsettling. And I think you're right, I don't get that sense about them. I think something was wrong with them. But... [hmm.] The Dreamer thing, I don't trust it. There's not some malevolent force at the center of all this. I don't believe that.
[a sigh. they turn, looking up at the sky, even though it's always cloudy here. just sort of contemplating, looking very much like a real statue while they do it.]
...I don't know. It had to be somebody, right? I think. [hmm.] The prism makes things sometimes, things where none of us know what it came from. But this doesn't feel quite like that.
That's what worries me most about it. We don't know.
...then we should try to find more about it, shouldn't we? That way... you can try to understand what's going on with it, too. Maybe it will help you to find out, even though you don't know now.
Do you suggest that we ignore it entirely, then...?
[jiuqing feels - a little surprised, although maybe she shouldn't be. the residents have been pro-prism from the very beginning, and they'd certainly seemed agitated after the first note had been found. maybe that wasn't just because of the "brain scrambled" comments.]
This... "Dreamer" seemed to be trying to get our attention, with the note. And then there was also that hallucination that Miss Hiyama, Sir Naruhodo, and Sir Asogi had... they saw it while looking around for clues, but it didn't seem as though they had any choice but to see it. If we ignore it for too long, might it escalate to something unavoidable?
I think you should all...stop digging up graves and dragging things out of them. Metaphorically and literally.
[cemetery defacers...]
If it becomes unavoidable, then that'll be our sign we have to do something about it, but until then... [but they seem to stop themself, despite their frustration and obvious discomfort.]
I don't want you guys to think you can't talk to us, or we'll get angry at you if you do what you're gonna do. I'm glad we're having the conversation, that's just...my opinion on it. Nothing good is going to come from digging things up.
[in their defense, they just peeked into the hole that weird digging noise that they can't see made, they didn't dig it themselves!!]
I see...
[well. that's fair enough, honestly. "don't poke the bear," so to speak - it's not a bad mindset at all, and it might get through to anyone else. but jiuqing's experience in daxing has been wildly different. poking the bear, digging up secrets - that's what allowed her to survive, after a first life where she died from lack of knowledge.]
...I understand your point of view, Shale. But I'm sorry... my experience has been that what you don't know can hurt you. I'm not sure I'll be able to stop myself from looking for answers.
[...]
But perhaps I will stop looking for them in the cemetery.
I don't think anyone's really buried there [laugh track over 9S] but it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. There's just some things you try not to do if you don't have to, and disturbing a grave is one of them.
[they appear to feel strongly about this. but putting aside the literal grave robbing...]
Okay. I kind of thought you'd say that. In that case, just...it doesn't have to be me. But one of us. If you find something, or you've got a theory about something, show us, tell us, let us talk it out with you. We don't spy on you or anything. We only know what's up with you guys if you talk to us.
Of course... that seems fair. Anything I find myself, I'll discuss with one of you. And if I hear from someone that they've learned something new, I'll urge them to talk it over with you themselves. [unless there's a pc where they've started talking about this and it's set after this one but we've already finished it. rip.] ...does that sound alright to you?
[awww. giving her a pat pat pat on the hand, holding it there for a second. they feel incredibly calming. like verdant, something old and steady, growing and decaying at once and replacing itself. the ambiance of watching a time lapse video of a flower grow.]

I'm sure it must be more than a little unsettling that it keeps coming up...

[a sigh.]
I wish you guys would talk to us about these things. We could set your mind at ease, maybe.

And if you dig up more pieces that tell you to hate the prism, destroy it? And if you start to believe it?
Didn't all of this start getting worse after that first one? I don't...I don't like it.
